The historic noble building Palazzo Rovito, after a long conservative restoration, is subsequently returned to citizenship.
In particular, it becomes the seat of the Library and the Historical Archives of Ugento, as well as a privileged and unifying place for urban civic and cultural life.
The building is developed as follows:
- first level;
- mezzanine floor;
- second level.
Presumably it was initially built by skilled local workers and built in tuff ashlars from the local quarries, with external finishes in pietra leccese. The stylistic characteristics of the property, in this way, both in the internal and external decorations, are of considerable artistic value.
In other words, the building represents a historical-architectural heritage of high interest both for local history, but above all for its affinity with the urban aristocratic emergencies of the entire Salento.
